During this season of social distancing, we are unable to gather together in-person; however, the church is not stopped by physical location! We’ve created a Home Church Kit for everyone to participate in as both an individual devotional and together virtually in groups. Head to the Home Church Kit page for how you can join us!

We’d love to invite you to join us for worship on Sunday, to visit a community group, or attend a special event coming up. Below, you’ll see an overview of all the things you need to know about how to stay connected with everything we’re doing as a church family.

Connect With Us!

We’d love to personally welcome you and answer any questions you may have!

Be Our Guest This Sunday

While we are unable to gather together in-person, we’d love you to connect with us and join us in participating in the Home Church Kit. View some of our past messages and come say hi!

We meet at The Sandler Center. Childcare and Sunday School classes will be provided for ages nursery to 5th grade during our service. There’s lots of free parking in Town Center of Virginia Beach and several wonderful eateries nearby to hang out before and after the service.

Our Sunday worship gatherings involve music, Scripture reading, teaching, prayer, and weekly communion. A typical Sunday gathering lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes – from 10am-11:15am. As soon as you walk into the building, you will be greeted and directed to the worship center or to our children’s ministry check-in station.

We offer a nursery and children’s classes up to 5th grade during the service. All children (ages 3 months – 5th grade) will be dropped off before the service, so plan to arrive around 15 minutes early so that you have plenty of time to make it to the service. Once the service is over, you will pick your children up from their classes.

We invite you to explore our site some more, listen to a recent sermon, and contact us if you have any questions or need any information. We’d be glad to help!

Visit a Community Group Near You

During this season of social distancing, groups are still meeting in various ways online – join us!

Community groups are where people build lasting friendships at Anchor Church. We certainly want everyone to feel welcome at our Sunday gatherings, but we would love even more for you to feel a sense of belonging by joining one of our community groups and letting us get to know you more.

At most of our community groups, you can generally expect to enjoy a pot-luck dinner with others followed by a family-style discussion on the message from last Sunday. Children are welcome and most groups find ways to care for children or arrange childcare during the discussion.

If you’ve been visiting for a while or if you’re thinking about visiting on a Sunday, consider getting the whole picture by also planning a visit to one of our community groups.

We’ve got an Interactive Map on our Home page. We’d love for you to visit one near you!

Caring for Our City

Because we’re anchored in Hampton Roads for God’s global mission, we believe we have a unique opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus with people that might take it with them around the world.

We also believe that our area needs to hear the Good News and that we have a responsibility to make this Good News tangible to them. We want them to see, hear, and otherwise sense that God’s message of love and hope are for them. This moves us to find ways of serving our neighbors and partnering with local schools and organizations to care for the people in our neighborhoods and in our city.

Most of these opportunities are within our community groups, but we also list special opportunities for serving or giving on our App and Social Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Realm). Be sure to download our app, like our Facebook page, and sign up for a free Realm account to stay connected. We’d hate for you to miss something 🙂
